Filmed on 11/13/07 - The Running Event - Austin, TX - Gary from Icebug discusses the Pytho. The Pytho operates as a normal trail shoe but also includes 16 carbite studs which do not wear out. On a hard surface they compress up into the rubber, but give added grip on trails and even ice. The wearer will not feel the studs through the shoe on a hard surface, but they may be audible. After the camera turned off, Gary told me a great story about how he visited a college campus to let the athletes try the shoe. When the team went down to the frozen pond to test it out, Gary gave the shoe to who he thought was a distance runner, but the girl turned out to be a 200 meter runner. She sprinted across the pond, stopped on a dime and sprinted back without a single slip!

Less is more! All product features are detailed to be truly functional in delivering excellent running feeling for optimal high speed control in all conditions. A low midsole profile keeps the runner close to the ground, with added Squish and Bounce inserts below heel and forefoot to improve energy management at impact and release. A 3D flow moulded exo-skeleton cage supports and embraces the foot maintaining its’ position over the midsole during intense activity. ProtecPU and mesh have been selected for maximum durability at lowest weight. The padding is kept to a minimum to keep weight and water absorption down.
